Electric Scooters - the legal bit

While it’s legal to purchase an electric scooter in the UK the use of electric scooters on UK roads, footpaths or cycle lanes is not legal. Electric scooters are only permitted on private land with the land owners permission. The law governing their use is the “1835 Highway Act.”

If you fancy some bedside reading then read up on the act. https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/Will4/5-6/50/section/LXXII/enacted

Horizon Micromobility Ltd supports a review and change in the current law, so that the UK can move to a micromobility transport solution as have our European, scooter loving neighbours.
