New batteries
Some brands suggest to bed in new batteries. Fully charge and then discharge the battery for the first 5 cycles.
Charge your battery before capacity reduces to 30%
E-bike batteries operate at their best when the charge is above 30%. When you get below 30% you may find capacity will rapidly reduce.
Don’t charge or use the battery while hot
Batteries can get hot after use or when using on a hot days. Let the battery cool down before charging/using.
Don’t charge immediately after a ride
Wait 10 minutes before plugging in the charger.
Don’t use it immediately after charging
Wait 10 minutes after removing the charger.
Unplug the battery once charged
Your charger should stop charging the battery once full but removing the charger is best practice.
Store your battery at room temperature
Batteries don’t like the cold so store at room temperature and if possible don’t store in shed/garage during then colder months. If storing for any length of time charge to around 80%.
Keep your battery dry
Electrics and water don’t get on. If you do get your battery wet dry it as soon as possible.
Tip: to extend battery life
To extend the life of your battery take it off charge when around 80%.
