How to use Fuel Saving Calculator
The calculator is designed to give an approximate cost as to the savings of an electric scooter/moped vs the petrol equivalent
Weekly Mileage (divide by 1.6 if in km): Enter your current weekly mileage. If you work in km divide km figure by 1.6 and enter the result.
mpg of petrol motorbike (multipy by 2.82 if in km/l): Enter the mile per gallon figure of your current motorbike/moped. Use actual figures if possible rather than manufacture's figures. If you work in litres multiple the km/l figure by 2.82 to convert to mpg.
Cost of petrol / litre: Enter the current cost for a litre of petrol.
Electricity Price kWh in pence: Enter the kWh figure you currently pay for electricity. Check you bill or visit your energy provider's website. Enter figure in pence.
Range in miles of battery (divide by 1.6 if in km): Enter the range of the electric motorbike.
kWh of electric motorbike battery (divide by 1,000 if in Wh): Enter the kWh of the electric motorbike's battery. If not known the calculation is (Voltage x Ah)/1,000. For example 60V x 42Ah / 1,000 = 2.52
